11.05.10: In the Gallery

To bring together all of my sketchbook work and the mini project with Gareth looking at object, character and environment design, I have created another menu to browse a selection of the content. I adapted the shop carousel so that you can select a set of 10 images for character, weapon or environment design, then cycle through as before. As they are in sets and not individual shop items, I also added the ability to cycle through each set when enlarged too, which should make navigation as easy as possible. The 30 images include work which doesn’t fit directly into the other main parts of the final piece, or which I didn’t have space to include. As before I, also made an individual card for each of the 30 images to ensure interface continuity and to boost the aesthetic as well as a brief description for each when enlarged.

To complete the work, I finished off the final piece which is a visual for the underground armoury beneath Stokesay Castle in the SketchUp map. The before and after shots below show the extensive work refining the shadows in Photoshop and the addition of the figure and cannon. I feel that this scene is descriptive, detailed and works well to illustrate the atmosphere and variety of locations in the game.
